UNMC is renowned for its leadership in healthcare education, research, and innovation, and the HSEC, completed in 2015, continues this tradition. The CAHP is one of six colleges at UNMC and offers 15 education programs in the health professions. The HSEC, located at UNMC’s sister campus, the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK), is home to eight allied health professions programs as well as programs offered by the UNMC College of Nursing. The mission of the HSEC is to transform the health and healthcare of Nebraskans through the delivery of premier educational programs, with an emphasis on serving students and patients living in rural Nebraska and providing innovative interprofessional education. This mission is fully supported by the University and state legislature, as evidenced by a new construction project to add a second academic building adjacent to the HSEC, which will provide classrooms, offices, and robust simulation spaces to support the expansion of the Colleges of Medicine, Public Health, and Pharmacy to the campus. The new building is scheduled to open in January 2026,
