Assist the Assistant Director for Wellness & Fitness Services in the administration of a comprehensive wellness program with responsibility for nutrition education, consultation and the management of the Wellness Kitchen program, activity/events and services. Responsible for ongoing promotion through social media, presentations and outreach opportunities, the development and administration of the programmatic budget, annual reports, and grant writing. Supervision responsibilities include: recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluating 3-5 graduate assistants/interns, 8-12 contract staff and 3-6 student staff. Develop and maintain campus partnerships, including a NEHS dietetic internship preceptor site.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Nutritional Sciences & Dietetics or related field required. Current Registered Dietitian (R.D.) through Commission on Dietetics Registration (CDR) of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics necessary. Must be licensed through the State of Nebraska as a Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist (LMNT) or the ability to obtain within 2 months of hire. Experience coordinating/scheduling events and/or outreach programs for community nutrition education essential. Experience working with the adult population in individual and population-based nutrition consultations required. Must have supervisory experience. Budget development/maintenance experience necessary. Group presentation and public speaking skills essential. Must have teaching/facilitation experience in Wellness and Nutrition Education. Ability to successfully plan and prepare meals required. Ability to successfully teach cooking and meal preparation classes/seminars necessary.
Certified Personal Trainer preferred. Certified First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor desirable. Supervisory experience in a college/university setting helpful. Prefer program experience in weight management or disease management. Strong analytical, interpretative and interpersonal skills preferred. Ability to conduct and maintain confidential information and conversations with clients/participants and groups desirable. Excellent problem solving skills and sound decision making skills preferred. Certified Health and Wellness Coach desirable. Prefer certified in Adult Weight Management.
