Who is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist? 

        A food and nutrition expert  

  

What are the educational and professional requirements for an RDN? 

        Complete a Bachelor's degree majoring in nutrition 

        Complete a one-year internship 

        Pass a national exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration 

        Complete continuing professional education requirements to maintain registration 

  

Are Registered Dietitians Nutritionists licensed in Nebraska? 

        Yes, in Nebraska the RDN is a "Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist". The credential is abbreviated as "LMNT".

 

Where do Registered Dietitians Nutritionists work? 

        The majority of RDNs work in the treatment and prevention of disease. We administer medical nutrition therapy, often as part of medical teams.
